I hurried out to Sand Flat Farm this afternoon after work. My hubby found out that the power had been off in our whole area for quite awhile and I was afraid that the food in the freezer and the fridge maybe had ruined or thawed out. Been there and done that, and it ain't pleasant to clean up, let me tell you. Luckily, the power company must have gotten the electricity restored in time to save my groceries. Everything seemed fine. Maybe a little soft around the edges but OK. Whew! Guess that sort of thing just goes along with country living, huh? I still wouldn't trade it for anything!
I'll have some more photos for you tomorrow. I took some more when I was there this afternoon. I had to stand in the pasture and just stare - you know that "golden glow" that you get in the afternoon just before sundown? At least that's what us artists call it. Everthing is glowing with autumnal colors as well as the warmth from the sun, and it's breathtaking to me. I see it mostly in the fall and winter months. Hard to capture on canvas too, but I'll keep trying.
I'd like to post some of my paintings on my blog at some point. I have some of them on my computer, but the size is too big, will have to take some smaller pics. I'd like to see what you all think about my work. Have a good evening and I'll be back tomorrow. Oh, Margo is bringing me one of her cute "chandies" tomorrow! Can't wait to add it to my garden shed! Hi Vickie!
Thanks for the comments on my blog. I bet our siding is the same thing. Yes, the yellow sample was, well, YELLOW! It was pretty loud!
I've been to Tyler State Park, but I would have to ask for directions to get there again - it's been awhile and I will willingly raise my hand and get in line with the directionally challenged of the world! Hubby just rolls his eyes.
Yes, the kids (son and DIL) are both juniors at SFA. Jason should graduate in the spring of '08 then they will go somewhere for Ashley to do her internship - she is also in theatre, but is in stage management. She really wants to go to The Gutherie. As for Jason, he has no back up plan so keep your fingers crossed it works for him! He told us when he was in 10th grade - acting isn't something he does, it is who he is. We knew we were in trouble!
Sorry - didn't mean to write a book here!
Looking forward to seeing your pics and seeing your goodies from Margo!
Oh I hope to get to see some of your work one day soon.

That's all there is to it! Feel free to email me (in profile) if you have any further questions I might be able to help you with.
Yes, Linda made my little porch house. We had saved some of the windows from our house when we replaced them several years ago and I took them to her for her to work her magic on - didn't she do a great job?
Best of luck to your son too. We have always tried to be supportive of Jason's passion for acting. We did try to get him to get a teaching certificate while he was in college but he said no, that was like planning to fail and he could always go back and get that. He really does just love the whole process - he plans on being poor. LOL He has never once said he wanted to be rich and famous, just a working actor.
If you want to keep these 'books' off your comment page, my email is on my blog page and/or in my profile (I can't remember which this early in the morning!)
