Adam, my dad and these two were welding on the new gates that Adam and daddy made a couple of weeks ago. I just thought I'd share a couple of photos cuz that's about all that is going on at the farm right now...
Adam has on the welding hat and is doing the welding right now.
Josh and Tony are giving moral support as there can be only one welder at a time.
I've got a couple of painting projects that need to get done at the farm here in the next few weeks, but work has interfered with my plans. IT'S 1099 TIME AND TAXES AGAIN!
I just don't know how you people that live up north do it! I couldn't STAND all that cold and snow and ice. Boy howdy, am I glad that the good Lord put me here in the south! It's a balmy 75 or so today, tomorrow is supposed to cloud up and maybe get a shower or two and turn colder again.
Tony will have to get busy and paint the gates now. I have to paint the front porch and all the rails and steps. But there's a little fixin' we gotta do around the base of the porch. AND I need to decide whether I'm gonna pull up those old hawthorne bushes in the front and plant all new stuff around the house, or keep 'em and maybe plant a few more on the other side of the porch. Whada ya'll think?
Here's a photo of Josh and Bug. He's such a GUY, but he loves this ugly doggie. I've seen cute Chihuahuas, but unfortunately Bug is not one of 'em. We love her and she's a good watchdog. She sleeps with Josh every single night under the covers of course. I don't wanna know how many dog hairs are on his sheets....
Here's a close-up of her. She's kinda squinting, but she loves the sunshine. She shakes ALL the time so I bought her a couple of sweaters, but she won't wear them. She rolls up against the back of the couch and peels them off like a sock. They come off inside out sometimes.
Well, people this is a pretty lame post I know. Not much going on except work. I'm enjoying reading yours though! I'm loving all the winter recipes and I do have a photo of one I tried. I'll do it in a later post if ya don't mind. Me & Josh are fixin' to go get somethin' to eat. Peace, out---

There is no such thing as a "lame" post! Everything is blog fodder. Our neighbors had a chi...forget it...one of those dogs. His name was Herman and he wasn't nearly as cute as yours. He was very very brave as long as someone was holding him. Other than that he'd head for his favorite spot under the bed. Loved that dog.
The fence is looking great and I know that you'll share your painting projects with us.
Tax season...bah!
I don't know how I stand the cold either. Maybe I'm just a misplanted Texan in truth.
Oh, this is not a lame post! It speaks of farm, family, working together and happy memories. What could be a better post than this! Just love your blog at all times! blessings, Kathleen
I'm loving it - we are suckers for less than perfect looking pets! Bug is a cutie! Wow - impressive pipe fence - and yes - we've been loving the warmer weather.
Don't ever think your blog is boring. I love how your family gets out there and does the work together to get the job done. I've got to say, Bugs is pretty cute. There's a few ugly ones out there but I wouldn't put her in that category. Keep on posting!
RiverBend Farm
That is going to be some fence when it is finished!
I have a friend who worked in a tax office for 5 years. She left in May to take a job at a rural water office - she is loving it! Doesn't miss tax season at all.
Okay - now that I've seen your new fence all painted and pretty, I'm realizing how badly our fence needs a paint job. Uggghh! Farm work never ends, but isn't it great???!!
i think this is a very good post. That is going to be an awesome fence!!!!...m..
