103rd Post

I know I said I was having a 100th post giveaway, but life has a way of throwing a wrench into the best laid plans of mice and men. I haven't forgotten, but it's going to be in the very near future and will probably be some random post # like 107.5 or something.

Seems like there's been someone or something having a crisis for the last few weeks and I've been unable to do much of anything, let alone blog. Here's what's been going on...

1. Spent $1500.00 on my car getting some much needed things fixed and it was in the shop for two weeks, during which time, me & Tony were carpooling and all that jazz.
2. Spent another $750.00 on my daughter's car getting a new a/c & running back and forth from her college town to swap cars with her.
3. Two weeks ago - I had several days off getting my heart procedure done & recuperating.
4. We've had 3 funerals to attend in the last 10 days.
5. We had one wedding to attend.
6. Been out on the farm trying to get the garden in for the last two weekends and evenings after work.
7. Mom had knee surgery this morning and I will be helping Dad out with her for a few days.
8. Been dog-sitting for Princess while she spent spring break in Orlando with her roommate and roomie's big sister who is a flight attendant (they got really cheap-o plane tickets) (that makes 3 dogs for me to take care of & Princess's dog is very time-consuming)
9. One of my friends confided to me yesterday that her 18 year old daughter is pregnant & I'm trying to lend my shoulders to them. I hate it so bad for them. They are trying to wrap their brains around this right now and figure out what to do. They've checked into open adoption, but are not sure they could actually give the baby up. Marriage to the young man is a definite NO. They even had already paid for her college tuition for the 09-10 school year. They are good Christian people. Mistakes do happen to all of us, don't they, whether we're Christians or not.

Anyway, I may be away for a little while, and I will definitely be back with my giveaway. I'll try to check in on ya'll as I can. I miss ya when I'm away - I like to know what's going in your lives.

sorry to hear of the challenges you've been hit with - I feel for your friends and the pregnant out of wedlock situation - I had no children of my own but we've gone through this in my immediate family and an inappropriate marriage was such a BAD idea. One step at a time and knowing no child is a mistake - they are blessed to have loving and supportive friends. Looking forward to seeing your garden progress!

Oh yes, lots going on in your corner.

One thing that I remember about such mistakes is that every baby is planned by God. I know that the Lord will guide as they look to Him.

Take care and I'll be checking in every time I find you here!

Oh best wishes to your mom as she recovers from surgery...

Hi there...I popped over from Garden Antiques Blog and am enjoying reading yours. I love the idea of the farmhouse and the kitchen re-do is precious.

Sorry so much has been going on in your lives lately...isn't that the way it is....feast or famine!

Okay, so why is it that you're running behind? (Sorry, someone had to ask...) One marriage in the midst of three funerals lets us know that life does continue on as this couple begins theirs together. I do hope things ease up soon for you; you're always in my prayers!
Hugs,
Sher

Sorry to hear all that is going on. Glad to hear that your heart procedure went well and will be keeping your and your family and friends in prayer. We too have been busy trying to get our garden planted. Just put in the onions and will be planting some more once the rain stops.

Hugs :)

Isn't that just the way life is...i plan it out so well and write my plans on the calendar and then life just goes and does its' own thing...and not in a very orderly fashion either!

One thing for sure, people are way more important than to-do lists and blogging! Sounds like you already know that,

I hope the family are able to come to a good decision for the baby... as others have commented, the baby is NOT the mistake, and babies are a blessing. Prayers for wisdom and discernment! Any decision they come to will affect and change their entire lives, not to mention the baby's.

Vickie, when it rains it pours. I know it may get overwhelming at times, but know that I am thinking of you. You were so kind to me during my time of our faimily's challenges. Just take one day at a time, AND make sure that you take care of yourself.

And I thought I had a lot to deal with! You are on overload. I always ask God to give me strength and then I turn to my faith.
I will say a prayer for you. Hope you mom recovers quickly!!

It does sound like you've got quite bit on you plate now!

To answer your question about my garden seat, it was a birthday present from my family. I think they got if from the Gardeners Eden catalog.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Goodness, you are one busy lady.

I hope your Mom is recovering well and I'm so glad to hear the wonderful news about your heart procedure.

I will put the family with the unplanned pregnancy in my prayers. I know it can be difficult to go through, as this same situation happened in our family. The good news is we gained a wonderful boy that now we could not imagine not being part of our lives.

Another Texas lady! Wonderful! I do miss Texas and all my family is still there. Thanks for your comment on my blog, and I am now a follower of yours. Great looking piece of property; I long to live in the country. My husband tried to drag me out to look at one, but it was a fixer-upper, and I'm just about disabled from this one! Well, lordy.
Glad to hear you're feeling good!

Things just don't always go as planned, do they? I just did the car repair thing myself, so I know where you are coming from.
Glad your heart procedure seems to be a success! How wonderful for you.
I hope your mother is doing well and will soon be back on her feet.

Will be thinking of you - and looking for post 107.5

Life tends to throw obstacles in our direction when we least expect. You seem to have your hands full of good deeds. Bless you.

Thank you for joining in on my vignette party!

It sounds as though things are very busy for you right now. It's comforting to know that the Lord blesses all His children. =) How nice that you are "being there" for your friend at this time in her family's life.
