Look what I had today for lunch! My friend, Lourdes Espinoza, came by with a dozen of these yummy tamales for me today. She is such a sweetheart. She has 6 kids, and still finds time to make tamales. You know they are very time consuming to make. I've made them a couple of times, and decided I wouldn't make them again until and unless I'm not working anymore. I'm sure Lourdes has it down to a science.
They were great - just right - still hot - not too bland nor too spicy - Boy she does a great job on tamales!!!
It's usually Thanksgiving or Christmas when she has them but she suprised me today! Can you smell 'em??
Boy howdy, they sure are good!

They are beautiful. When my daughter in law lived with us she sold them so we always had some. =( now they moved and I miss them so much. I think I will tell her mom make me some for after I come home from my surgery,I do love them fresh yummy!
Hi Vickie...I am also from NE Texas. Found you via Brin and her mom. They are great!
I love homemade tamales!
Hope you don't mind me dropping in now and then.
ah tamales! the food of champions. I like to make tamales but it is usually just for a holiday because only way to make 'em is in a big batch - too much for just the two of us. You are blessed to have someone who loves you enough to bring you homemade ones. Yummy!
Wow. Now I am hungry, but luckily I'm right here in Tyler and it is almost noon. I'm sure I can find some Mexican food somewhere - LOL!
PS - I love, love, love your new banner. Fabulous photo!!

I finally taught myself how to make tamles last year and I had great fun and they were so good. I could eat a hundred so slide that foil pack on over.
Drooling here!
I lived in TX for 5 years and remember tamales wrapped in foil brought by a friend...snitching one...OK two, maybe three before I could get them home....some of the best yummy-ness in the world!
