We Serve A Risen Saviour!!!

Happy Easter Sunday to you all. I hope that you are all celebrating the resurrection of Christ our Saviour, and spending time with loved ones today.

Keep us in your prayers - we went to my mother-in-law's this morning to get her ready for Easter Sunday services, and we found her on the floor in her room.  She had fallen and broken her hip.  We had to cancel all plans for Easter with the family and kids and call an ambulance to take her to the hospital.  Xrays confirmed a broken hip, and she will be having surgery later on this evening.  She will then probably go to a rehab facility, and if she heals well, will return to her Alz. care home.  If not, then I guess we'll be looking for a nursing home.  Tough times ahead.  I'm so glad that God is in charge of our lives and that we have a Spirit who intercedes for us when times get hard.  Blessings to you all dear friends...

The difficulties in caring for a loved one with dementia is something I know all too well. First we helped my mom as she cared for my dad. He passed away in '05; then my mom also suffered from dementia and just passed last month. It's so hard to see them suffer, and sometimes it's hard to know exactly just what is the best thing to do for them. The most important thing is to have the support of your family and your spouse. Hold on to each other, and trust God for His guidance. What you do will never be perfect, but at least your mother-in-law will know (at least in her heart) that she is loved.

Oh Vicki...the same thing happened to my mom. I loved 3 hours away and she lay on the floor for hours before someone could get into her home which was locked.
Mom lived a year and a half...she was 85 when she died. I will say a prayer for your sweet mother in law..pray that all will go well for her. Come say hi when you can :D

Vickie, so sorry about your mother in law. I wish her a speedy recovery and I will say a prayer for this evening surgery. Like you say , thank God that give us comfort and strenght when life gets hard. Even though you have to cancel your celebrations I know you will find joy in the fact that our savior is risen. Blessings to you and your family, Marta.

Dear friend, I am so sorry for your mother in law and for you all. This is nearly identical to my dad's story. You're on my prayer list; I hope she does well with the surgery. We will be waiting to hear further details as you find the opportunity in your busy schedule to let us know.
Hugs, Debbie

What an unpleasant thing to happen to your family. I'm so sorry to read it, but I will be praying for God's comfort and healing to surround you all and that the way will become much clearer as He leads.
