This 'N That

Howdy-doody, peeps! Hope your Autumn week is going well. Mine's been awful busy. I've not been posting as often as I'd like, but I'm still here, still kickin' and checking in on you all when I can.

Well, this week we've been having a touch of cooler temps. 'Spose to be back up in the mid 80's, but the nights are cooler and it's been such a relief.  I hear out in California and the desert they are having over 100's. Bless ya'll's hearts.  I'm sorry for ya'll, really I am.  I know how it feels.

We're still busy cleaning out, throwing away, and trying to decide whether to save any of the junk we've accumulated for the past 20 years at our house OR if it's worth trying to have another garage sale OR just donate to Good Will or something (I'm giving it serious consideration)  I hate to just give ALL of it away. I know there will be some things that we'll donate, but I could sure use the extra $$ a sale might bring in. It's just such a headache and a hassle to put one on and get everything priced.  But I probably will...

My little Sam never showed back up, so I guess something happened to him. I'm gonna get another cat, tho, as poor little stand-offish Alice has become so sweet since she's by herself now.  She won't leave us alone and she hates when we leave.  Tries to come out to the car with us...

A few Autumn vignettes for your viewing pleasure.  Random shots from last year, cuz we don't have much, if any, fall color yet.  But I gotta keep up with all you guys!  You're showing off such beautiful Autumn colors!

(above)  My front porch... still gotta get the porch painted!

From the Franklin, TN, Farmer's Market last fall while visiting Adam...I was going to save some corn stalks from my garden this year for Fall decorating, but they got plowed under before I could rescue them.  Plus, Tony said he really didn't want to find a place to store them for a couple of months until they were needed...

(above)  Beautiful Sycamore tree down the road from us...

(above)  Another shot from the Franklin Farmer's Market - They had more different kinds of pumpkins than I believe I've ever seen!

In other news, we'll have all the kids home this weekend.  I love when they come home. Adam doesn't come this way from Nashville very often.  With his music writing and performing every weekend and some weeknights AND his real estate business starting up he's SO busy.  But he's actually coming home twice this month for "have-to" things!  Her Royal Highness Princess Hayley is also coming home. It'll be good to see her again, too!  I miss 'em when they're gone, but we're sure busy when they're home! Busy is good!

I just LOVE Autumn! Please make Christmas wait!  I wanna soak up all the colors, the coolness, the warm sun on my chilly face, the snuggly clothes, the pink cheeks, the hot soups and breads, the pumpkin pies, the bonfires, the cookouts, the blankets at the football games & hot chocolate, the leaves crunching under my feet,  the togetherness with family & friends, & the Friskiness of FALL!

You are helping me adjust from vacation. Hearing that TX has cooler temps means I can't go back and just float in the pool, water might be cool. I love your fall pictures and I need to get in the fall mood. Poor little Sam, boo-hoo. Yes, a new friend is in order for Alice. Garage sales way too much work for me, so good luck!

Hi Vickie~

Moving!!!! We moved my mother in May, it's always amazing to me how much "stuff" we can accumulate! My sister's husband was talking to a man from China - his biggest questions was, why do we have to have storage units when we have such big homes! I've wondered that myself...

Poor Alice, she does need a friend...:0( Hope you find the purrrrfect playmate for her.

Autumn came to Idaho, and I think it's about gone, but...I think summer has returned?! We have had record breaking temps this last week, so who knows! I hope we can enjoy some brisk Autumn days before we get snow.

Your pictures are so beautiful, even if they are last years, I love the assortment of different pumpkins.

Have fun with your kids, soak it in and make lots of memories!

Hugs,
Barb

Get to soakin' girl! I too hope it doesn't go too fast. The temps have been dropping into the low
40's at night and 70's in the daytime. We are beginning to see some color; not nearly as pretty as it's gonna be. We have our fall on! We'll go to our first hayride-weiner roast next weekend.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend with your younguns!

Whew...moving is a hassle. Alice sure is a sweetie and I wish I had one like her. We have trouble keeping cats outside.

I sure hope that you have a great time having the kids all home.
I love when my 3 sons are all home at the same time.
Yes, Alice should have a friend to keep her company to bad about Sam tho.
I hope you have a great day.

Sounds like things are just moving along for you....so happy you'll be spending time with your kiddos.

Sorry the kitty didn't come home...

Things have been crazy here with little hope for them to settle down.

But, that's the stuff of life.

Vicki, I just love the header pic. Sorry to hear kitty has not returned yet. I know you all must be heart broken.

Great work on the clean out. That is always such a chore.

Happy Autumn to you!

I'm so happy to read that Friends are beginning to cool down!!!

I agree, don't rush into Christmas just yet. Not for a nice long time. Enjoy and drink in, all that goes with Autumn!!!

Let's start a Blog Movement! On that theme! :-)

Sorry about 'Sam,' but please, may I put in a word for the next kitty's name? See "Alice" really needed her "Jasper"! She really, really did. So this time, please don't let anyone else name your new little boy. Plunk the old fashioned name of "Jasper" on him, and he'll be invincible! Just like "Jasper" in "Twilight"! :-))))))

I admit I don't like some of the wigs they put on the actor. But if you scroll down [in above link] to his pic in Civl War Uniform. Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... :-)

Incidently... why paint the porch? Looks awesome to me!
We just got a kitty a few weeks ago, First one we've had in years. Little dog Izzy just loves to go out and play with Tabby. She's such a friendly cat. Hope you have better time with your next one.

I know what you mean about sorting through, Vickie- it's hard to decide what to keep and what not, plus yard sales are a lot of work.
Love your fall pictures- we don't have a lot of color here yet- we're still about another 3-4 weeks away from that. (Shoot...)
Hope you have a great weekend with the kiddos!

I just got home from Las Vegas this afternoon and talk about warm for Sept!!! We don't have any fall color yet here either. I like your porch, and your farmer's market. Sure some neat pumpkins there.
Sorry Sam never came back. I hope nothing happened to him, and that maybe someone just kept him.
Enjoy your kids visit.
As for the yard sale...I'm with you, it's so much work marking everything. But yet, hard to give everything away.

It may not feel like fall there, but it sure does look like it. Love the pumpkin party! Oh, we have been looking for one of those red, squat pumpkins. They make the best pie ever! Have fun with the kids at home this weekend. Sorry about the kitty not coming home...shoot! Hope that little Alice hangs in there until the new kitten arrives.

Chickie,
Let's just skip Halloween and be thankful for two whole months! That's what we can do! So, I'm going to shout out an early thanks for you being such a good friend. Ok. That's it -- I'm coming down there!

We are getting cooler weather also. So good that your young un's are coming home! I love fall as well! It's my favorite time of year. Vickie, you asked about me showing my pumpkin patch...........well, I only got a few pumpkins this year. We got too much rain and it ruined my plants. Funny sounding I know for west Texas to get too much rain, but for pumpkins, it's true. Have a wonderful weekend. blessings,Kathleen
