Meet the new Farm Pooch. Her name is..... drumroll please.....
We don't know yet!!! She's a border collie mix, an outside doggie (you see where she is don't you?), and I hope she works out and stays here. I found her on craigslist actually. I've been looking for awhile for just the right thing and I think she's IT. Since we're in the country, she'll be loose. Hopefully, she'll help deter coyotes and maybe they won't eat our cat!
Well, this is a short and sweet post - it's midnite - just wanted to say hi - check ya later!

Love the 'short and sweet' new addition!! Can't wait to see what her name is! blessings ~ t
Sweetness :-)
She is a real cutie. Can't wait to see what you name her.
We never had a border collie, though my parents did raise collies for a while even having a kennel. They were all registered. I loved all the puppies and all the collies we had while growing up. They're a wonderful and intelligent, loving dog. Oh she should have a terrific name...one that is befitting the keeper of the grounds. Mrs. Hughes perhaps? ☺
Awwww, she's a sweetie!!!
For those goin' ewwwwww, out there at the coyote comment. That's exactly how we lost our Maximilian.
God bless and have a booootiful day sweetie!!! :o)
Border collies are wonderful dogs...your gal is a beauty!!!!
We had a border collie when I was a kid. He was soooo smart, sweet and loyal. I think you've done very well.....
I have a bordercollie too and her name is Molly.
she is the best most loyal dog and I absolutely love her.
she is a great step mum for our new puppy, he just loves her too.
Border collies are great dogs - my name suggestion is biblical and a favorite of mine (which of course I've never used!) Talitha (which means little girl) - call her Talley
She looks like a beautiful........Belle....to me! Hope you enjoy her! Vicki, you asked me a couple of chicken questions.......I used to let my chickens free range.........mostly in the winter because in the summer they tear up my gardens too much. However, I have had to keep them enclosed in their yard because we live in the middle of misquite woods and now with the drought, all of the predators are coming to our pond for a drink of water. The chickens would not last one day if they were out free. To keep them warm.......I have my chicken coop windows sealed with plastic and then boarded in the winter, the hay is stocked up high. You can use a warming light.........but I am fearful of fire way out here. The chickens just all cuddle up together in the hay and seem to do fine staying warm. You will learn what works best for you as you get chickens and work with them. Good luck! blessings,Kathleen
She's a beautiful dog. I also found a border collie on Craigslist a year or so back. She was just perfect at first, but slowly started showing her 'true' colors. She was a 'nipper'...wanting to 'nip' at certain people's ankles and thighs. They say that this is the herding instinct and very hard to stop this habit. Eventually, I found another home for her. I assume she's happy...they didn't bring her back!
Best of luck, and I hope she's a 'good one'.
