Eggs

Ok, my little chicken laid me another green egg today, and I promised no more silly hen tacky, so I've added an egg count to my side-bar like all the other chicken people. Only mine is going to come from ONE hen. Let's see how she does...  K?

Edited to add:

I ate my two beautiful green eggs for breakfast this morning. They were beautifully orange big yolks and they tasted so yummy with a little milk, salt, & pepper and a little dab of butter to cook them in - scrambled.  I've been buying fresh 'uns from the lady down the road, but I guess cuz these were mine from MY chicken, they were ever so much better!

Tony keeps asking me where I got this chicken. He doesn't believe it just wandered up. Well, it DID!  He thinks I'm trying to finnagle a way to keep chickens. How could he think that!  Well, it did just show up.  I promise.  I'm hoping to add to this one now, tho once he sees how great it is to have fresh eggs.  Guess I should have fed my two green eggs to him.  Well, I'll give him the next ones!  Promise!

I love it! So...what's her name? Looks like she's yours so she deserves a name.

She is definitely glad to find a good home - laying an egg every day in the winter is an accomplishment!

Oh Vickie, she's so happy and trying to thank you for your good care.

What are you doing with the eggs?
My dog or cat would love them......

Hey, I'm back! I wonder if Jaci is going to cluck with a Texas draw..probably so! It's only fitting! You've got to keep us informed on her. She's part of blogland now. As for the "restench"..we've got that solved with a full tank of propane..now to get rid of those stinky hats!

Well, I just think that is too cool that the stray hen is no longer straying and has found a home! You realize, of course, she has given you your first beginning as a chicken rancher. I can see your hubby laboring over a chicken house and installing chicken wire while you're at the feed store picking out baby chicks! ; )
Love,

I know exactly how you feel... the first time I collected eggs from our chickens I felt the Queen of the World! Isn't that funny?

I feel the same way when i make bread or yogurt... Like I've somehow unlocked the secrets of life.

Of course, people have been making bread for a VERY LONG TIME, so I don't know why I think it's so impressive... but is sure feels that way!

Blessings! Have a great day.
