This is what we've been doing for the last week...
Hay is being cut and baled all over the farm...
Pipe fences are being constructed over on the east side of the farmhouse...
Old barbed wire fencing is gettin' torn down... seems like this fencing business is an on-going thing, as you farmers/ranchers know....
This tractor is probably the best thing that we've ever bought for the farm. It's amazing the amount of work and the different kinds of work that one can accomplish with this little baby...
And me??? Well, let me show you ----
From pickin'...
to ripenin'....
to eatin' !!!!!
I've been puttin' up peach jam the last few days. I've already finished off the first jar by MYSELF. Peach is my absolute FAVORITE of all the jams and jellies! It's my very favorite fruit, too!
This weekend promises fresh PEACH COBBLER and HOME MADE PEACH ICE CREAM!!!
And these peaches are only a drop in the bucket. We've got lots more between me and Dad. We'll be peelin' em and freezin' em this weekend, too, I imagine!
The dadgum birds are trying to peck holes in the peaches, too. I know we gotta share with the animals, but good grief! Cain't somebody learn them birds to eat off the same peach! I mean, every time they come by they wanna peck a different peach! I hung Walmart bags all in the peach trees and also bright shiny CD's, hoping to scare them off. I'm SURE it looks quite trashy (no pun intended). But I guess there's plenty of peaches to go around...
Y'all have a great week! I'll be back with pictures of our yummy peach treats this weekend!
Keep ya gown down!

I know how busy this time of year is on a farm from being raised on one...Constant work! I love peaches too, nothing better than a bottle of peaches! I have been making bread and little dresses and trying to wait patiently for the newest little grand daughter to be born..any minute now! Can't wait to see what you are doing with the peaches :D
So beautiful your place. Was thinking of ya'll. Good Days and Cool Nights wishes to all who pass. :o)
There is nothing as yummy as a Texas peach picked right off the tree and eaten immediately! The farm looks beautiful with the freshly mowed fields. I know what you mean about not having time to post anything lately. It's been busy around my house too!
Do your bird scarers work? We have a cherry tree we have yet to harvest because the birds get them all..
Your farm is beautiful and I am jealous of your pipe fence! How hard are they to put up?
Peaches, I love peaces and you have a bountiful harvest there. You are so busy doing the best things I am surprised you could get away for a post, but glad you did.
BTW, we got another mole, how is your varmint count going?
I can see how busy you are on the farm.
I just love peaches and it is so hard to get a good peach around here.
Does your bags and cds work?
We have a mole that is driving me crazy here.
Have a great day
those peaches look great..sorry the birds are causing so much trouble...they should have better manners...

Lawsy, girl! You're makin' me feel lazy!!! I picked figs today and will get busy here in a little while on some preserves. Had to fight the bees!
I LOVE that pipe fence! Brag to Tony that I said he's doing a good job. One step closer you are to getting there! :)
Oh my!! I NEED some of that homemade peach cobbler.
Your post always leave me with a big smile on my face. I love your blog!
However, this time I'm worn out too, from thinking about all the work done on the farm.
Your peaches are beautiful..... you can't get much better than peach cobbler and peach ice cream....
All that work reminds me why I live in town. JK I'd move back down to the "homestead" in a heartbeat.
What a great idea for scaring the birds away!
Hey, my Dad claims to be a retired farmer with only a dozen or so steers left. He's still changing or repairing fence all the time!!
so much work on a farm. i bet your
kitchen smells heavenly.
my youngest and i are making a peach
cobbler tonight! i wonder what it would
taste like to pour your jam over the top
of my peaches and then crust it?
mmm
Your farm is beautiful and I'm sure you guys are BUSY!!! Love, love, love the hay bales... we have small fields around here and people bale their hay that way. It is so pretty and smells so good!
It all looks so yummy, and the bales of hay are great. I always say hay is like money in the bank for your animals.
I will be dreaming of your peaches and the sunny days to come here, but for now I will sit by my fire and dream.
Oh, don't those peaches look wonderful. They are my favorite too. Sounds like a yummy weekend at you house.
I can tell you have been busy as a bee! The fence looks great, what a great addition to your farm!
I love peaches, can't wait til' they are ready in my neck of the woods - peach cobbler with homemade ice cream, yummmmmy! I just got rid of a whole bunch of old cd's, should of sent them your way, hope they scare the birds off the peaches!!
Hugs,
Barb
Greetings from Colorado, Just found you from Diana's blog and so glad I did. Loved seeing the farm and of course I love peaches so got hungry reading all that you are doing with them. I've joined your followers and read a past post. Since we moved to Colorado I've been known to stop and pick up someones junk-like an end table and repurpose it.
Have a great weekend.

It's unusual to see the hay in rolls, here in Utah it's all square bales. I love your new tractor, wish we had one!! They sure do come in handy.
The farm looks beautiful with all the green fields and the neat fencing. And I love your peaches!!!
I can almost taste them.
Wish I could visit and sit down to a bowl of fresh peach ice cream...oh heaven! I love the photos of hay bales!
Hi~I am just out visiting...something I have not been doing much lately...things are busy on our farm too! :) Hope all is well with you...stop in and say hi sometime. :)
Yes it is such a busy thing to do all that needs to be done, but aren't you so grateful to be able to do it? I can tell you are! Hope the birds leave your peaches alone! blessings,Kathleen
