I MISS YOU ALL!

Hello my dear bloggie friends!  I've missed you all so much and I've missed reading what all's been going on in your lives!  Thought I'd just check in and make sure you're all still there, and give you a little update on our goings-on around here.  Wedding is 3 weeks away, lots of last minute details to take care of, still getting things cleaned out of the house, a few lookers at the house, working on the garden - looking good so far.

In other news, I'd like you keep my dear MIL in your prayers.  Since I posted last, she suffered a stroke and is mostly paralyzed on her right side.  She can still swallow a little bit, and she is getting nutrition (for which we are thankful) but trying to rehab her broken leg/hip on the left side while the right side is immobile is going to be next to impossible if some of the feeling in her right leg doesn't come back.  I don't see her ever getting out of a wheelchair.  She seems depressed and maybe has given up.  We're not sure what she's thinking since she has Alzheimers.  Our prayer is that God will do whatever's best for her.  We are not at the point of making life/death decisions right now, but her prognosis is not good.

My cat, Jasper, has disappeared, too, from the farm.  I don't know if he's gone visitin' or if a coyote got him. He was such a GREAT cat, good mouser, and he followed us around like a puppy dog.  He'd even taken to riding on the Mule with me - just hopped right in and sat next to me while I drove around the farm.  I miss him already - I hope he shows up.  We may not be able to keep a cat out there - I don't know.

Take care my friends - love you all - I'll be back soon!!

Vickie,

It is great to hear from you.
Wow! You have a lot going on...no wonder you need this break.

Sorry to hear about your MIL's continuing issues. It is so hard especially with the Alzheimer's. Praying.....

And Jasper...I do hope he comes back. He sounds like a perfect cat. Love that he likes to ride the Mule. Too funny.

Happy wedding planning. It will be here before you know it....I'll bet it will be gorgeous!

Life has some wild swings. I can only imagine how happy you are to be celebrating your daughter's soon marriage and then to be concerned about your mother-in-law's health and well being. Perhaps Jasper is off on an adventure. We have had experiences where a cat came back...remember the old song..."The cat came back; we thought he was a goner." What was that from? SNL probably.

Great to see you here. Now if I don't catch you until after the wedding, have a wonderful time!

So sorry to hear about your MIL. I hope all goes well with her. Very exciting about the wedding, wow only 3 weeks. You may have to build an enclosure to lock your cats in at night. You cannot have a farm without cats!

Sorry to hear about the MIL - we've had a barn cat for almost 12 years no - we trained him to come in at sundown and we shut him into our barn - he has a litter box, food and water and a couple of night lights -cats see well in the darkness but not pitch black dark! I doubt he would have lasted long otherwise - we have a kitty door which we block at night and open in the mornings - he seems to understand when it is open he can come and go as he pleases.
Just a thought
missing you also - but we'll all be here when you can come back - looking forward to pictures from the farm

So glad to hear from you, Vickie!! I know things get so busy with life and family and then you add a wedding, well, that has the makings of a frenzy. Sorry to hear of your MIL's troubles and I hope Jasper was just off visiting or hunting somewhere. Hope you enjoy your weekend. Blessings ~ Tanna

Good luck with the wedding. I know it will be a happy, special time!

Sorry to hear about your MIL--Alzheimer's is such a terrible disease in itself, and complicated by additional health problems is just too much. My mom has had such a struggle with depression and anxiety, but a new medication has made a huge difference. It's not an Alzheimer's medication, but has taken away the fear and anxiety. She is still confused, but actually sounds happy when I call.

Oh my darling...we will make it through. I promise. Sorry to hear about MIL's stroke; been there. It's hard. Funny the way life is -- the good and the terrible come simultaneously. With the Lord's help, we make it past and onto a better day. He'll carry you so much of the way. My prayers are with you and the family. I love you!

It's good to hear from you. I will definitely keep your sweet MIL in my prayers. This is so hard to go through both for us and our parents.

I hope your kitty show back up. Sometimes they are gone "visitin'" for a long time. I've given up before only to find one very hungry scratched up Romeo at his dish. Coyotes are a problem too. {{{SIGH}}}

God bless and have a super day!

BTW: Happy Easter Giveaway...my place...ya'll come!!! :o)
