My Little Clara Barton...

THIS is what $1,500.00 worth of books of first year nursing students looks like.....
(and that doesn't even include extra study guides and online study stuff and more workbooks, scrubs, shoes...)

And THIS is what a first year nursing student looks like...

wearing "bubba's boots"...

dressin' up her kittens in doll clothes...

playing soccer and t-ball, ballet, tap, tumbling, dance and cheer...

volunteering as a nurse's aid in Mexico... (the kids loved her)

fishin' with her Pop and brother... she loves it!

swimming and snorkeling in Caribbean waters...

lovin' critters of all kinds...

'specially her pooches...

Here's my baby girl, all grown up, and starting nursing school in a couple of weeks - her dream has finally come true.  She started thinking about this in Jr. High, and took all the health science classes and pre-nursing classes available thru high school and college.  She is so excited and so am I!!!  She is a Christian first and foremost, kind-hearted, practical, a people-person, caring, extremely organized and I think she'll make an exceptional nurse someday!  How did she go from "bubba's boots" to this talented and poised young woman in such a short time???  I swear I don't know.  sniff...sniff...sniff...

When you come back to blogging you certainly have something to shout about..your baby girl starting nursing school! Oh, I remember it well. Trust me, those books will become part of her library and she will constantly be referring to them. A wise investment.
I know you are a proud mama..

Vickie,
She is absolutely beautiful!! I can tell from your post that she is lovely inside and out. Mission trips have a way of showing us a world outside of ourselves...I am so glad she has had opportunity to go.
We need good nurses! I'll bet she'll be great!

What a noble calling! And one really must be called because it means crazy hours, long shifts, working on holidays, and plenty of heartbreak to go with the joys. All the very best to her! She truly is a beautiful woman and all good nurses have the most beautiful spirits, too. Blessings...

Ahhh...how sweet. And she's adorable. At least she got A LOT of books for that amount! Wonder what the resale amount will be? ha! Good for her!

what a blessing she will be to those blessed with her nursing skills - hard course of study but a girl who can fish, snorkle, drive a tractor and look adorable can definitely handle it all! You Done Good Vickie - your kids are amazing people

Oh my gracious goodness! That stack of books is totally unfair to the pocketbook! I don't know how the schools and publishers can get away with charging that ungodly amount for books! In addition to tuition! It's a money-making scheme!
She's grown up being a beautiful girl since she was born! What a gorgeous young woman! And I know you are so proud that she's fulfilling her dream. Go, Hayley!
