THIS is what $1,500.00 worth of books of first year nursing students looks like.....
(and that doesn't even include extra study guides and online study stuff and more workbooks, scrubs, shoes...)
And THIS is what a first year nursing student looks like...
wearing "bubba's boots"...
dressin' up her kittens in doll clothes...
playing soccer and t-ball, ballet, tap, tumbling, dance and cheer...
volunteering as a nurse's aid in Mexico... (the kids loved her)
fishin' with her Pop and brother... she loves it!
swimming and snorkeling in Caribbean waters...
lovin' critters of all kinds...
'specially her pooches...
Here's my baby girl, all grown up, and starting nursing school in a couple of weeks - her dream has finally come true. She started thinking about this in Jr. High, and took all the health science classes and pre-nursing classes available thru high school and college. She is so excited and so am I!!! She is a Christian first and foremost, kind-hearted, practical, a people-person, caring, extremely organized and I think she'll make an exceptional nurse someday! How did she go from "bubba's boots" to this talented and poised young woman in such a short time??? I swear I don't know. sniff...sniff...sniff...

It is such a bittersweet time as a mom, I know. Congrats to both of you!
They grow up so fast......
Congrats to her for starting on her dream!
When you come back to blogging you certainly have something to shout about..your baby girl starting nursing school! Oh, I remember it well. Trust me, those books will become part of her library and she will constantly be referring to them. A wise investment.
I know you are a proud mama..

Vickie,
She is absolutely beautiful!! I can tell from your post that she is lovely inside and out. Mission trips have a way of showing us a world outside of ourselves...I am so glad she has had opportunity to go.
We need good nurses! I'll bet she'll be great!
Not only is she talented and poised, she is totally beeeeeeeeeeutiful too.
But then, look at her Momma!
Best wishes and good luck to your beautiful daughter as she pursues her dream to be a nurse! She will be a very good one, I'm sure. I know you are very proud of her and rightly so. Blessings to you both!
I can see why you are so proud! She is living a wonderful life and pursuing great things. Way to go! Before long, she'll be helping so many people that she'll lose count.

What a sweet, beautiful and smart girl you have. She will be an outstanding nurse. She would be great and whatever she puts her hands to because she's a child of The King. I love the journey you took us on. I remember the big fish picture!
awwwwwww..got get em precious girl.
They do grow toooooooooo fast. Oh Clara Barton, one of the bios I read to my kids that I loved, she had the tensity of my own daughter.
Yea for your daughter and blessings on nursing school. We sure need good nurses.
I hope your farm is surviving all the heat we are getting this summer.
What a noble calling! And one really must be called because it means crazy hours, long shifts, working on holidays, and plenty of heartbreak to go with the joys. All the very best to her! She truly is a beautiful woman and all good nurses have the most beautiful spirits, too. Blessings...
Well, I know........from good raising roots....girl! You have done a great job! She is lovely and I know she will make a difference in this world with her nursing skills. blessings,Kathleen

Ahhh...how sweet. And she's adorable. At least she got A LOT of books for that amount! Wonder what the resale amount will be? ha! Good for her!
what a blessing she will be to those blessed with her nursing skills - hard course of study but a girl who can fish, snorkle, drive a tractor and look adorable can definitely handle it all! You Done Good Vickie - your kids are amazing people
Best wishes to her in school!
She is beautiful and you deserve a big old pat on the back for raising such a wonderful girl! you have much to be proud of ...New beginnings are always good.
My mama heart is sniffing with yours, they do grow up so fast! She is so beautiful! You have much to be proud of and I wish her the best in her studies and reaching her goal of becoming a health care provider. Hugs to mama too! Have a wonderful weekend!
Oh, Vickie! I know you are so proud! Your daughter is beautiful inside and out and a joy to her Maker. Wishing her a wonderful first year of nursing school!! blessings ~ tanna
ps hate I missed the gathering! Read Debbie's post awhile earlier but couldn't post a comment! Glad you girls had a blast and that all was okay at her place!
Best of luck to her. Bringing back some sweet memories of my daughter, too. She is 27 now and an ICU nurse.
Oh my gracious goodness! That stack of books is totally unfair to the pocketbook! I don't know how the schools and publishers can get away with charging that ungodly amount for books! In addition to tuition! It's a money-making scheme!
She's grown up being a beautiful girl since she was born! What a gorgeous young woman! And I know you are so proud that she's fulfilling her dream. Go, Hayley!
Blessings to her as she follows her dream and calling! Such a beautiful girl and I know she has a beautiful heart too!
Hi Vickie!
What a wonderful daughter you have there! It sounds like she will make the perfect nurse - gentle, kind, compassionate, and very much like her mom... :0)
Wishing her all the best on her new journey!
Hugs,
Barb
P.S. She looks just like her mom too!!
