DING DING DING!!! WE HAVE A WINNER!

Congratulations to Linda Sue at Buhlaland!  She made the 13th comment on my last post and had the winning guess as to WHO both my husband and I dressed up as to go to a New Years Costume Party!  She said Winston Churchill and Frida Kahlo!  What a clever lady!  Never thought anyone would guess Frida Kahlo!  I think my hubby made a pretty good Winnie, but it's kinda next to impossible to make a blond pale-skinned gal look like a dark mysterious Latino woman artist!  Even with that wicked UNI-BROW!  Several guessed I could be Golda Meir (sp?),  and I never thought about that, but I guess I did sorta look like her.  I'll be getting her prize out to her soon!

I've been reading Parisienne Farmgirl's blog for a couple of years now, a beautiful young mother with 4 gorgeous children.  She just announced that she will be heading up her own online magazine all about French country style, her potager, cooking, personal style on a budget, etc.  Her name is Angela - go over and meet her and check out her blog and her magazine. I think it'll be a hit! And she's having a give-away, too, I think, to one of the first 100 people that sign up for her magazine!  A cache of lovely, delicious products!

Guess that's all for now - will be back soon!!!  Keep yer dress down!

I've had a great laugh this morning. Sorry at your expense.....just kidding. But this was a great story. Something that would happen to me. So glad you and hubby had a good time anyway!

Well that blew my dress up! WOW - Frida Kahlo was such a bold and innovative force in the Mexican art world (and scandalous person!) thanks and can hardly wait to see what you send - better not be some of those gophers - plenty nasty little toothy things here already! Thanks Vickie - you are such fun!

Wow. I never dreamed that I would be wrong with Alex Trebek and Golda Meir. ☺ Who in the world is Frida Kahlo? I will have to Google. Congrats to Linda Sue! She's a smart cookie!

Omigosh! I did know of her! Recognized her right away once I Googled. Remember that little facial hair post I did recently? Well, I had found her back then when I learned that Kahlo had a mustache that was part of her charm. ROFL! She sounds like quite a character.

Congratulations to Sue! Who MUST be an artist, like you are! Else, how would she know who you *were*? (That's my story, and I'm going to stick to it! -grin-)

"Auntie" is blushing. Because you *chastized* me for not showing our Old Family Corner Drug Store, before. Betcha' I have shown a couple of pics, but........ ,-)

I haven't even told our son, to look in at my blog, to see it. In case he doesn't like it, that I was that open, about information.

But, he DOES have that Store web site on the World Wide Net. So, why would what I did, by *worse*?

And my husband liked it very much.

But you know kids.... Even when nearing 50, you never know how they'll *take* things. -chuckle-

Well, it's been a couple of days. I can now tell him to go take a look. He can't *do much* to me, now. -gigggggggggggggggggles-

Nope, I am NOT afraid of him. Just don't like to irritate him, any more than I usually do. ,-)

Congrats to the winner. I would never have guess them.
I truly had a laugh about the party mix up. Glad that you had a good time anyway.

Vickie --- You are a lot of fun! I've been a Grinch this year. We are in such "moving" mode that we didn't want to pull out decorations. I promised myself to not be this grinchy next year --- to make sure to decorate, etc. regardless.

I guess I'm just OVERdue for a move to the country!

Your costumes were so awesome! It's fun to get into the mode of Halloween and such...to allow ourselves to have a good time. Sometimes, we adults forget to make TIME for fun and to also give our energy for FUN instead of just work and hum-drum activities. It sure does help to balance things out when we have some fun.
